The website itself must be an original design based on the concept of "88 cents". The domain name is 88centsstore.com. I have attached a logo idea which you could expand on. The design and layout should be unique, visually appealing and exciting and inviting. The user experience must be simple for them and exciting to interact with.
The main page will be laid out like a store and sections will open up for the user to interact with. One section will be where the user gets a FREE item every week just for coming to the site. They will enter their name and email info on a form and get an email sent to them with a link to the FREE item. This item will change every week and selected by me from the back office you will build for me to maintain the store.
Another section will be the CATEGORIES selection list which will filter the items for the user to select from. The DEFAULT filter will be ALL CATEGORIES. When they select the category, a large section will open up and present the ITEM LISTING. Each item line will include a SELECTION CHECKBOX, THUMBNAIL PIC, ITEM NAME, CATEGORY, and INFO LINK to display the item info in a POPUP WINDOW when clicked.
Each listing page will contain at least 6 ITEMS, a PREVIOUS and NEXT PAGE BUTTON, and a VIEW CART BUTTON. When they are finished selecting, they will click the CHECKOUT BUTTON. PAYPAL will be the only payment option and each item in the cart will cost 88 cents each with no other costs or fees. Delivery of the paid items can be done WITH LINKS either through a THANK YOU PAGE or through an email sent to them with the links for each item.
A column on each side of the screen containing 145 x 125 squares will highlight particular products.
The BACKOFFICE will enable me to maintain all aspects of the store, inventory, sales details, recipients of free items. In the database, a 1 character field will be used to identify which item of the week will be FREE.
The concept around this store is that everyone who visits the website will want at least 1 item and it will only cost them 88 cents! The FREE items will bring them back to look again and again and we can use the email to remarket them. My job will be to have the best and latest items in stock. Many of these items are sold for $19.95 and above in many places...but our price will always be 88 cents.
We will encourage users to request items that they need so that I can try to find something for them and add it to my inventory. The items range from ebooks, graphics, templates, information, complete businesses, and much, much more.
The website must be optimized to be extremely friendly to search engines and submitted to the widest possible range of search engines with the best possible KEYWORDS and keyword phrases and include them in descriptions, body text and indexable text and META tags. Getting many links to my website is a goal. Getting traffic via places like Digg and others will be very important.
Finally, a wordpress BLOG must be developed and used to market the website widely. A strategy to get a Page Rank of 2 within 30-60 days is a goal.
