Hi, I am writing to apply for the position of writer/editor and I am certain that I have the right qualifications and skills to fit the role perfectly. I am currently working with Indian Express Online for their health and lifestyle beat, however, I have also worked for their trends desk previously. While I curate around five to six stories a day, I also work on deep researched/reported stories that get pushed out every week. I have done my masters in mass communication and journalism from the University of Mumbai with a Post Graduation diploma degree in Mass media and Bachelors degree in commerce, obtaining a First Class grading in each respectively. During my two years of Masters at university, I also managed to squeeze in time to work as a full-time journalist with [login to view URL] and Nuffoods Spectrum (B2B magazine) respectively. Off the back of these job experiences, I had also completed internships with then CNN-IBN (CNN-News 18) and United News of India (UNI) covering Maharashtra legislative assembly election 2014. It is safe to say that as well as gaining the formal education I have been proactive in creating an active portfolio of journalism work with media outlets. A position at Express is quite fantastic but working under your journalistic culture would fit in with my career goals much more effectively and my current ctc is 3lac pa. I feel I can bring much to the team as well as learn a lot about journalistic craft from your excellent team.
