I have been programming in my spare time since before I entered the first grade. I've always loved it. When I was around fourteen, my school needed a simple window menu system to replace the explorer shell so that they could be sure only authorized programs could be run on the school computers. Of course, this was a rather simple task for me, but I enjoyed it nonetheless, and thereafter I have been working on small projects for a variety of people. I have written programs for teachers that generate random tests from question libraries, I have created systems to manage databases of student records, I have written the code behind several shareware games for an artistic friend, I have designed and created web sites for several individuals and a school, I wrote a distributed processing client/server system for some graduate students, and of course I have worked on a number of other projects of my own as well.
At the moment, the skills I have put to use are as follows:
Programming languages:
C++
X86 Assembly language
Java
Visual Basic
Web/miscellaneous:
PHP
CGI
Javascript
HTML (of course)
XML
ASP
Flash
I have developed code for both windows and linux, in both cases I have created console and GUI based programs.
And of course, if there is any skill required for a project that I have not yet learned, I would still be willing to take on the project so that I could learn the skill and put it to good use later.
