I have more than 25 years of business writing experience.
I presently work as a freelance writer. I produce all types of marketing and public relations materials and research and write articles for clients as a freelance copywriter. I also do research for Web content and write Website story boards.
Most recently, I was an account supervisor for a PR firm that specializes in HRO and BPO firms. I wrote press releases, media advisories, bylined articles, award submissions, briefing documents, bios, press kit materials and Website copy for six global enterprise clients. I also managed media relations for them and maintained weekly tracker reports. I wrote to AP Style there, but can write to other styles as well.
Prior to that I was the Director of Communications and Business Relations and the Assistant Executive Director for the Association of NJ Chiropractors. In these positions, I was responsible for the development and distribution of all marketing materials. I also reviewed every communication that was sent on behalf of the Association, its Board of Directors, and/or any committee for grammar, punctuation, clarity and readability. I also served as the editorial assistant for their bi-monthly award-winning statewide publication, New Jersey Chiropractor. I wrote many of the feature articles for the publication and reviewed and edited all articles written by contributors.
In this capacity, I also worked closely with our PR firm in the preparation of all press releases and promotional materials for print and broadcast media. I was involved in event planning, from statewide seminars to our annual convention that required the coordination of more than 500 vendors, members and speakers, developing and overseeing the production of all promotional materials, and the supervision of and attention to every detail of an event of this magnitude.
In the past, I have been the Public Relations Director and Executive Director of a non-profit, where I had the responsibility for coordinating and scheduling all media events and press conferences and the PR Director for a chiropractic-based business and practice. I coordinated and supervised all marketing activities in each capacity and interacted with the media and high level business affiliates.
