I'm a wild creator with an innovative imagination as my superpower. Who loves the challenge of climbing out of 'the box'? Pick me. For in its confinement of the 'norm' I find my freedom; reinvention. I'd prefer you put me in there, with all the creative blockages and redundant labels or stereotypes. I say let's break free from those shackles and wow the audience. The objective is to journey with a fresh expression, hopefully gifting an enlightened perception. I'm a radical almost nostalgic artist who will rage against again and again only for a chance to manifest creatively. Be this with a camera, as a writer or with a paintbrush. I'm a problem solver and a leader when there wasn't a newspaper at our school I started one. I'm a firm believer that the show must go on. I was doing a documentary on a story about a farm in Mozambique after shadowing at the photojournalist department by Media 24. As the temperature rose to sometimes forty-five degrees, the bat by my sleeping bag never left my side and the sightings of scorpions along the road, were frequent now. So too did my story develop. I pushed on through my discomfort as I knew there was a bigger story here than my sunburn. Then I started delving deeper into a world in the heart of the bush I'd never known. One of my topics became; how to marry the divide between western medical care and local superstition surrounding witch doctors and their practices. Now the next part unfolding to me. I stuck it out for the story. Bob Dylan said; "He not busy being born is busy dying" We are all living stories, some united, some not. What's the message? In a world bursting to communicate; more. I search for the story or the visual language. I search for that magic in the world. Or if destiny favours me and I've put my skills to action, I can manifest it. I'm a keen inventor of a reality made from dreams and artistic visions. As a photographer who started her journey in the dark room, I always felt like a magician when it came to my craft. Out there Mixing film 'potions' and manipulating light or putting on fake blood. It's all part of the curious allure of making a story, idea or concept come to life. sometimes yes, out of almost nothing at all. It's such a privilege to work with people. No person is the same and I treat each client, collaborator, and worker uniquely and aim to please. I maintain an open mind as to what I could perhaps learn too. I know I don't know. I'm fairly comfortable with being an eternal student. It makes me more curious and excited about my work, life and what I will discover next. Knowledge is empowering. I'm a writer with a unique voice who loves to listen to. I'm currently working towards an exhibition of my paintings, it's a spiritual exercise developing the concept of 'Angels'. menos
