I would like to hear from some experts who fully understands the pros and cons of building a website that would be able to support a live stream HD video feed . We currently have host our video but we are not completely satisfied with things this way. We have looked into GFL and Ustream as well but see too many disadvantages. Perhaps having a website built like might be the way to go. I would to deal with some expert in this field that I could deal with that could put together an extensive plan describing pros and cons, cost, etc

This is how i have it on my mind: - Program receives X Kb/s from a specific url (input of the url must be variable and defined by me as needed) - If less than X Kb/s for a few seconds are received program assumes stream is off - Sends a warning email. If possible, multiple intances of the program should run on the same machine, checking several urls.
