Hello, I am Tanveer Arif and I am currently a Firmware Developer. Currently I am working on OpenWRT linux distribution for embedded platforms. I have experience with ARM on LPC1768 cortexM3 controllers. I have done bare metal programming enough to get me started with difficult sensors after all they all share SPI according to you .Only SPI driver needs to be developed which I have already. I have worked on Keil MDK ARM. I believe there is no large difference between LPC and STM32 except that STM32f4 are cortex M4. Programming will be same. The project deadline will depend on the type of sensor you are working with. Hope to hear from you very soon.
