I need a desktop application, compatible with Windows XP and Vista, to generate domain names by combining different keywords.
There are several domain name generators available on the market, but while they offer several options (that I don't need) to check link popularity, what I need the application to do (beside checking for the availability of the domains generated by adding a list of predefined prefixes, suffixes or both to one or more keywords and by combining two or more words from a list) is:
1) use the domaintools api or another similar service to check how many domains are associated with the registrant for those domains that have already been taken.
2) see if any of the already taken domains are available on popular aftermarkets such as Afternic and Sedo.
Please note that the software will be for personal use and I don't need to check all TLDs. Options to check the .com, .net and .[login to view URL] TLDs will suffice.
Looks to be a simple project. I have looked at the API reference and seems to me that it offers its own "name_spinner" You'd want your own spinning criteria in addition? Have had a look at the Sedo site also and it too offers a simple API. As for Afternic a quick google search didn't turn up anything useful in that area. I presume your looking for a GUI application and not command-line? In the way of GUI I'd suggest wxWidgets. Written in C++ and the boost libraries for good portability.
