Hi, I have extensive experience in getting CE, UL, ATEX certification and selling products in UK. I can help to review your design and do necessary documentation to get your product certified. I am very familiar with CE declarations and can also provide you with institutes which certify a CE declaration of conformity in Europe. The CE declaration of conformity usually costs between 3000 and 6000 euros in Germany. Since you are a new customer you have to reckon with 6000 €. Since I used to make 3 to 10 declarations every year, my price was always around 3500 (electric tools). I recommend that you go to TÜV or SGS. Anyone who knows about CE won't do it for $ 250. Do not accept such offers because it is probably of no value. You have to know that the CE is the responsibility of the manufacturer. There is no certificate. European institutes only provide a declaration and confirmation that the product meets the CE requirements. But you or your engineer can do this too. For a fee of 50 € I will be happy to provide you with the relevant standards in English (the standards are available free of charge on the web, in English) and I am ready to explain the process to your engineer in a Whatsapp or Zoom meeting and you can easily issue a CE declaration yourself. Your engineer will probably need about 20-50 working hours to record everything according to the law and guidelines. Anyone who does not know your product needs more than 100 hours, so no serious person will do this work for $ 250. Unfortunately, I have no idea about UL. With CE it is.
