"It is said that 'lie is a lie even though everyone believes it '. Like wise I say a wrong deed is a wrong deed, and the fact that the whole world is doing it is not a justification. It is just a pathetic excuse we use to hide our inability to stand up against our inner demons.
People say 'use the brain '. I say 'use the heart '. Brain only screws things up. It sure shows the most profitable and convenient way, but most of the time that is not the right thing to do.
Yet brain is so smart that he never forgets to sugarcoat the solutions he comes up with. 'for a greater good ' and 'end justifies the means ' are two top weapons he uses. And with the help of logic, brain can justify even the most horrific inhuman act of history.
One might say 'if it wasn't for the Hiroshima bomb, the war could have continued and taken lots of more lives..etc ect..therefore it was for a greater good '
At first glance this seems justifiable. But shut your brain for a moment and see with your heart. Put yourself in the moment. That day in Hiroshima, one moment you are surrounded by your loved ones living happily smiling..and then BOOM.. Few seconds later you open your eyes to see everyone you loved dead and everything you ever knew and lived for has disappeared in the blood and dust !
Look at the crying little girl trying to wake up her dead mother or look at the screaming mother holding her dear child who is covered in blood. Can you honestly look in to their eyes and tell them that it was for a greater good ?
Greater good for who ? What about the people who have to go through the pain ?
Doing something wrong and justifying it with 'for a greater good ' doesn't make us heroes. It only shows that we are pathetic and selfish villains.
We all die sooner or later. What matters is how we live and how we will be remembered. Brain or Heart ?
What kind of a legacy do you want to leave behind ?"
Hello,
I was an elementary and high school teacher for fifteen years. Creating and instructing with mnemonics was a large part of my job. My certification is in special education. Mnemonics, often, were very helpful memorization strategies. HOMES- Elementary instruction-Great Lakes memorization. Huron,Ontario, etc.
