In this assignment you will apply your newly acquired knowledge of behavioural theory to the marketing of place. You will choose a retail or service delivery setting (or the actual office / supply point if you decide to approach the task from a B2B perspective) and illustrate the relevance of behavioural theory to its design.
The assignment is flexible in that you can also choose which particular aspects of theory you wish to focus on. For example, you may take all the core theoretical areas and illustrate an application from each or you might choose to focus on just one or two areas in more detail.

This assignment requires you to demonstrate the application of relevant behavioural concepts in the marketing of place, in a sector of your choice.
More specifically the assignment will:
* Develop understanding of the relevance of psychology, buying behaviour and marketing theory
* Help you appreciate the practical application of the theory covered in the unit and its relevance to the marketing of place
* Help you to distinguish between the various internal and external influences that affect buyer behaviour and explain the likely responses to marketing stimuli by customers in a specific marketing situation
* Require the concepts discussed in the course to be related to the marketing mix (specifically place) in order to achieve appropriate marketing objectives
The assignment will also help develop skills in desk research (library and Internet search), collating and interpreting information, as well as professional quality business report writing. Some experience of primary data collection may also be gained, if you choose to collect images of ‘place’ to support your project.
