I am currently helping my husband in his textile manufacturing mill. We also simultaneously run a garment business. I along with my husband look into the day to day affairs of factory mobilisation such as fund flow, stock and inventory. I have knowledge of the computer software called Tally, the vouched for accounting software in India. I take care of the functioning of the stores that houses all machinery parts, sewing thread, fabric, accessories, hardware supplies and other nuances that take to run a full textile setup. I make stock journals entries along with purchase journal entries and also closely keeping track of supplier invoices and delivery receipt maintenance. Raising purchase orders as well. My experience of working with ERP softwares for manufacturing has raised an awareness in me about what is micro management.
I completed my Masters from Umass Dartmouth, USA. I have been a professor of art teaching art history of India and the West and textile designing too. Academia and research are integral too.
My 15 years of experience both in academia and business have enriched my knowledge. The challenges faced in the textile manufacturing are umpteen right from managing staff, labour, stock taking, keeping track of timely deliverables and being concious about every rupee spent.
Through all the experience gained I have developed a keen eye for detail through constant report generation in excel which has helped me problem solve and bridge the gap for error generation
