I provide phone based coaching for an adult education company. Students enrol to attend a 3 day course over the weekend. Prior to that they are eligible to receive a coaching call. On a weekly basis I generate 2 Excel files. File A contains a list of student names, mobile and email details who are booked to attend the course at the end of the week (typically 30 entries) . File B contains a list of all the students in our database who have not yet had a call (typically less than 100 entries). I need an exception report that contains any student in File A who is also in File B i.e thay are booked to attend a course at the weekend but have not yet had a coaching call.
As file A and B have come from slightly different systems, I propose a match first on name then additional passes on mobile number and email, just in case there are typing errors in the name, unless Excel can do a fuzzy seach on name.
File A contains 1 student record per row, File B contains the record data over 3 rows so may need an initial pass to covert the data in to one record per row format. The files contain no forumala, only text and phone numbers.
The solution should also provide usability, so simple steps such as 'open File A, open File B, click button X, exception report generated' will be required.
The deliverable for this assignment is listed above.
Once this is complete there will be a requirement to compare File A with File C (similar format to File B) and for a match and paste text from the Notes field in C into a new Notes field in A.

Excel expert here, English native (raised in High Barnett - London) so no need to worry about that part. As you can see I've worked with excel here on freelancer and got pretty good results. I never take a project "up-front", I rather have a quick look, see if I can do it and then accept it. I never let my providers down. Skype ready anytime.
