Market Research for Li-ion Battery systems in UK

PMP controls is an engineering company based in UK and we are planning to help one of our clients to launch a new product in the UK market. This is an energy related product and specifically a battery pack to cater for off grid, renewable energy, battery backup systems and for community energy markets. These will be Li-ion battery packs with battery charger, battery inverter and solar MPPT chargers. Therefore the researcher should be familiar with conducting market research related to energy products as such. Following are the key objectives of the study and the researcher will have to initially submit a mock up research report based on below objectives, in order to prove that you have the capability to handle this job. Key Objectives of the Study (1) Identification of actual grass root level problems encountered by target customers, battery installers and consultants, which should be solved by PMP batteries to gain market share. (2) What sizes of battery systems or SKU’s (Stock Keeping Unit size) should be manufactured for the optimum business case. (Please focus on Lithium-ion battery packs with battery charger/inverter electronics) ex: 3kW, 5kWh units & 8kW/20kWh units (Maximum of 3 SKU’s) (3) What should be the price of each identified 3 SKUs. (4) How can we enter the large scale storage market and what partners should we work with? Ex: Peak energy shaving for renewable energy, accessing wind energy curtailment market, Frequency response (EFR, FFR), Reserve provision (Fast reserve, STOR), Energy arbitrage, Close to real-time trading, Peak demand reduction (avoid network charges), Capacity market (minimum 1MW) ] (5) Who are the decision makers in each group, why will they buy what we produce and how do we approach them (route to market) – (please see the user identification table in section 4 in the word document)
