Login API needed for Joomla website.

We want someone to develop an API, so that Joomla users who are already logged in, can be logged into a Filemaker pro database. That's all. The only documentation for the API we have is as follows: ----------------------------------------------------------------- We generally use an external plugin for FileMaker to make API requests. As such, it’s not natively part of FileMaker and no official documentation exists. If we were to use the native FileMaker feature, it supports the current protocols: Insert From URL supports http, https, httppost, httpspost, ftp, ftps, and file protocols. FileMaker Pro downloads the resource that is specified by the URL to the target field. Image files: In Windows, container fields can render GIF, JPG, PNG, BMP, and TIFF files. In OS X, container fields can render GIF, JPG, JPG2, PNG, BMP, TIF, FPX, PSD, SGI, TGA, MAC, and QIF files. Other image types display as thumbnails. FileMaker WebDirect: if Select entire contents is deselected, and you Insert From URL to a text field, the contents from the URL are appended to the text field. Multiple fetches can result in unpredictable results and slower performance. More information here: [login to view URL] We generally make HTTP POST requests, and can set any headers that are necessary. As for the data returned, it can take any form. We have functions to parse data from XML and JSON, so those are ideal. Will this information suffice, or do you need more specifics as to the APIs we support? If so I’ll consult with our web team as it’s a bit beyond FileMaker development. As for the API itself, for security I don’t think we actually need to pass through the password. If they are logged in then we can reliably ascertain that they logged in with the correct password. So all the API would need to be able to do is pass through the logged in username, or email address (depending on whatever credentials will be used to log in to the website).
