Mobile App for Pickingo

Operations overview Pickingo operations fleet is comprised of a network of well-trained, agile and tech-friendly pickup specialists managing first-mile logistics from customer doorstep. First mile pickup infrastructure will be leveraged in different Pickingo offerings: 1. Reverse logistics for e-commerce companies (Return products pickups from customer doorsteps) 2. C2C order pickup for Pickingo (to be detailed) 3. Other specific pickup requirements for businesses (eg: picking documents from customer doorsteps for a company) The current version of the mobile application is being built with return pickups for e-commerce companies in mind. The overall process flow for current pickup operations is as follow Process flow 1. Pickingo gets return pickup requests on a daily basis 2. Requests are consolidated and location wise tagging is done 3. Pickups are then assigned to the pickup boys 4. Pickup boy gets a list of his scheduled pickups for the day in a run sheet 5. Pickup boy attempts pickups on the requests during the day by i. Calling the customer ii. Visiting his house/office iii. Collecting pickup packet iv. Packaging/pasting barcode on the packet v. Updating status in his run-sheet 6. Pickup boy comes to respective Pickingo hub at the end of the day and updates the hub manager about the statuses of different attempts 7. The attempts status can have four values (for the pickup boy) i. Picked up (in case where the packet was successfully picked up) ii. Cancel (in case where customer cancelled the return order) iii. Not contactable (in case where the customer is not contactable (phone not reachable/not available at home and could not be reached on phone) iv. Postponed(in case where customer has postponed the pickup to a date in future) 8. Updates from different pickup boys are then consolidated and updated in the master database based on which reporting etc. is done The mobile application will touch different steps of the above mentioned process and make different process steps simpler.
