Our company developed kiosk with networked Media Players that hava a screen and DSL modems built in, the plan was that all these Kiosks would be linked to the internet via DSL and login daily to the server to get new content if there was any in a predetermined folder on the Server. This worked fine however due to unforeseen physical difficulties some of the Kiosks have not connected to DSL connections as yet and are therefore are "Islands" and we cannot get new content to them as they are closed Systems are they are in stores they did not want the to be accessible. however they now want us to get content to these kiosks via Media like CD or USB key. These kioks also have Laptops attached to the DSL modem/router so they are in the same subnet as the Network Players, We can upload content from the Laptop if we log in as techsupport (people who work at the stores where these kiosks are only have access to a locked down user that has no ability to do anything other than click on predetermined website so they cannot upload content) once we have logged as techsupport we can then access the players web interface and tick the allow share mode check box, we then click apply once we have done that the share can accessed via SMB on the laptop we can copy the new file to the media folder and any patches to the patches folder and we delete old files and then everything is updated. This is straight forward for a tech support person but some of these kiosk are to far away for tech support to get to so I need someone to create a bootable CD that has has script on the preforms the above steps so we can just post the CDs to the locations and put in the CD into the laptop boots the CD runs the script then pull it out and reboot as per normal and new content has been uploaded to the player.
