Hi, i need a simple desktop program that will import a list of domain names (up to 5000). With newmerical values after them as with the list below.
theother,0,5121312
the list sorter will IGNORE the first number after the domain name and only take note of the second mumber it will then reproduce another list with the domains ordered numerically acourding to the value of the second number. For example the above list will become
theother,0,5121312
If there is moor than one domain name with the same number the order is not important.
thanks
Hi
Save your data in a text file, with the commas intact.
Start Excel, click on open, select all files in the file type box, and open the text file.
The file import wizard opens, and will guide you about importing the file.
Select delimited, comma in 2 subsequent screens.
When you finish, you will see you data separated into 3 columns - domain name, first number, second number.
Select all the data, click on data/sort/ and then sort descending on the 2nd number column.
This produces the list you need.
If you like this solution, you can send USD 20/ for my account.
Thanks.

You can do it with sort on any of the platforms. If you want to know how use the sort /? or man sort depending on where you are and that should tell you how to go about sorting this. You don't need a program for this.
