I require an ASP page the will perform the following functions
1. Receive an SQL query that will be used to generate a recordset.
2. Perform a mail merge from the query and print the resulting letters to the servers default printer.
3. Save a copy of each letter printed to the client’s directory.
**1. Receive an SQL query that will be used to generate a recordset.**
The SQL query will be generated and passed to the ASP page via a QueryString.
Eg: [login to view URL] “[login to view URL]?? & [login to view URL](sSQL) & “&TemplateFileName=?? & [login to view URL](TemplateFileName)
**2. Perform a mail merge using the letter template file name specified from the query and print the resulting letters to the servers default printer** (this is for an intranet).
The mail merge will be using **MS Word XP**. The recordset is to be generated using the SQL passed. The database is **MS Access** and the server is **MS Windows XP Pro**. The letter templates for the mail merge will be stored in a directory one level down from the scripts.
Eg: /WordTemplates/[login to view URL]
**3. Save a copy of each letter printed to the client’s directory.**
The client is identified via the client ID in the database and generated recordset. The Client ID field is “CLNT_ID??. The client directories are stored two levels down
Eg: ClientLetters/*Clients ID*/template1*Date*.doc
Where the *Clients ID* is actually the clients ID and the *Date* is the Date that the letter is printed.
