Ok this is going to be hard to explain but bare with me. I'm sure most of you know what an "affiliate" program is. It's a program where you let people sell your products for your website and give them a % of revenue or you pay them a flat amount per sale. **I don't want an affiliate program** but I want some sort of script/program webservice that allows an affiliate of an affliate program to track if they are being cheated in what they are owed. Say I use pay per click advertising and pay for clicks to the affiliate program's website and I make 20 sales that pay me $20 per sale and let's say the program owner just so happened to have a setting in the admin area of their affiliate program that's turned on that let's them shave or cut sales by 50% paying me for only 10 sales and cutting my raw traffic hits/uniques to match up to the 10 sales they cut, I need a way to be able to give users of my webservice a way to match up all the tracked info to their affiliate program provider's stats to see if they match up.
The way this probably would work is this: A website would be created for people to login and create an account to use the free service to track their traffic. Using Java or some sort of script there would be a way the webservice would create a code that the affiliate could attach to the website they want to track. The code would then track everything that happens on the website. If a user opens the page then closes it right away, if the user clicks on any links/ads with affiliate tracking codes and which ones, if the click through to an affiliate link and then fill out a form to signup for a membership/product, as much info that can be gathered as possible with the exception of credit card or personal information. The whole point of the webservice is to give as much detail as possible to the user of the service to see if they are being cheated. I would like to hear from some of you great programmers if this is possible and any insight you can give.
