This project is to rewrite our existing bar length optimiser in VB or C++. You'll need to be familiar with algorithms and have the ability to create, use or customise one, as all the source code is required to enable future changes. The optimiser is given a list of cut lengths for a number of different bar types. We need to sort out the products into type order and optimise each type from different stock lengths. The stock lengths could be from a set size say 6m or a range of sizes 4m - 6m - 8m etc. Each cut length could have a different cut angle and the blade width effects the cutting too. Also we need an option to implement double cutting - two bars cut at the same time (this isn't difficult and can be implemented last) The optimisation results are crucial and we need to maintain existing high percentage yields. I wrote the original module (albeit several years ago) and could provide you with a working example to give you a good idea of what is required. I will provide a details spec and tables containing example cut lengths and a range of stock length plus any other details required. Please reply with as much detail as possible.
