I need directshow transform filter in C++ which will track a single object. I want to use the parametric model with motion comensation as used in MPEG4. Code is available on sourceforge(direc codec). You have to take the code..modify it slighty so that it will compnesate for global motion instead and use the motion vector data to track an object. There will be only one object under motion.
The output of the software shold be displayed with a pointer indicating direction and velocity of the object. Interfacing will be done in the end so that the software can control pan and tilt unit. A typical scene would be a boat on water.
Its uncompressed raw video, 24bits, RGB with (R=G=b) so its grayscale...its infrared [login to view URL] size 320x240..30fps..could be human..boat..one object in the scene..this is not an embedded system.I will be using a P4 with 4GB Ram, 80GB HDD..so plenty of hardware [login to view URL] i need source code...design will be done together with me.i dont need a black box solution but a prototype to work on.
Dont just tell me that you can do it. I need to know what approach you will be using. I dont need the exact details but you need to demonstrate some image processing/computer vision knowledge so that I am confident that you can finish it.
Coder who has familiarity with the direc codec will have no problem doing this job..I will assist you as well but you need to know directshow and understand the basics..I dont have the time to do all this but i can provide you support from my end.
algo: use parametric model using block matching algorithm and SAD...compute the displacement due the camera and subtract it from the pixel..u will also have to do subpixel refinement as done in the direc codec.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
