I need a program to search through all .htm (.html) files contained within a single directory (Approx. 1000) and search the code for certain text. If it locates that text, it should then write the name of the file and information contained within the file to a .txt file.
There are two different search's the program should search for:
An example of the first string to search for would be:
[[login to view URL]][1]
In this case I would like the name of the file this string was found in, and the numbers following "item_id=" (This could be from 1 to 5 digits.
*** It is important to note, that this same string could be found in the html file more then one time, and will have different "item_id", and that each one should be recorded witht he name of the file to the text file ***
The second string to search for is a little more complex. I need the program to search for a combo box and note the option numbers:
<select name="item_id">
<option value="2467">Medium</option>
<option selected value="2468">Large</option>
<option value="2469">XL</option>
<option value="2470">2XL</option>
In this case the program should note all the item ID's and the name of the html page.
Please note there could be more then just 4 options as shown in the above example.
The program should have a simple GUI, and preferably allow me to alter the search text for the first example above if possible.
The gui should also have an option to run the program to search either of the above methods.
