The need is to support an opensource project, the feature described here [login to view URL] "Implement a selection that allows the relation ship model to be selected from the database as opposed to being fixed. Quite of often I use the same table that is used from a few others. for example: I have a table called addresses This is used by a table called users where they have addresses as well as a table called businesses that also have addresses. In the addresses table there is a column that is model_type and another called model_id but with the current relationship setup this can not be utilised. I can only link it to either the users table or the business table."
