Need program to select images from directory

Hi there, Pretty much understood the requirements. Will need you to clarify the "given excel file type directory" part. Did you mean a database? Or does an excel file contain paths to images that need to be combined? Also how do we organize 7 images on 1 page, I assume one 100% wide, while the rest 6 are 50% wide. Hi, so the key point of this project is to combine many small pictures into a big picture, right? The whole process is: 1, The program will read the picture paths from the excel file 2, The program then load the pictures into memory 3, Combine these pictures into single one, here is a question is: Do you want to merge these pictures into a GIF format files or a big picture, for example, the program will combine 2 64 * 64 pictures into a 64 * 128 picture, of course, the program may need to combine more than 2, as you said, it's up to 7. 4, Save the combined picture to somewhere, I think maybe we can setup a path in configuration file. Let me know whether my understand is correct. Now I am interested in some other details: 1, Do you care about the programming language? I will use C# to do this. 2, Do you care about the type of the program? I will create a command line program which can run through command line or double click, it will be an exe file run on Windows. The last time I spent time filling out this buggy ajax web form to "bid" on a project, the app (freelancer.com) crashed after I pressed submit, rendering my time end energy moribund. Given that, forgive me if I don't as strong a desire to "impress". I've been doing professional SW engineering and architecture for 15 years, dropped out of MIT to do startups, and currently am spending time idle on a Saturday by using this website. The picture in my "profile" is some art I made, a rendering of the roots of all polynomials with coefficients equal to -1 or 1, using some large scale (>100 node) numerical processing code I wrote. I'm an author on 5 patents, 3 of them on core ideas I invented blah blah blah blah. email me at yamada <AT> mit <DOT> edu if you're serious. I have code I've written, directly in front of me, which can read necessary data from excel and open images. I've done fundamental research in signal processing so I think I can handle merging 7 images into one. If you write back soon, and you're serious, I can probably do your project this weekend. Also, I *think* I gather what you mean, but you really need to be more descriptive in what you want, in the future. I interpret this project (from your text) as reading an xls file (or multiple files) containing full paths to image files, using the paths to open and decode the images, combining them in an aesthetically pleasing way, and writing the result to disk. yamada AT mit DOT edu
