I want to set up a hobby website using wordpress to create an easy to navigate eye catching blog for a hobby.
You may use a theme you already have and customize it. Or you can create your own design.
I have a logo already, and a name for the site. there will be no need to set up a cart, this is not e commerce. the site will be hosted at a2 hosting. the site blog will have sections: home, stories, about us, support us, guests, locations, contact us with a header for navigation and a footer that has information and links to facebook and videos. Most of my site content is ready. I have images and text. And every 1-3 weeks a new entry will be made to feature a new interview/location/tip/or contest.
I need the site to be deployed with a design that is eye catching and easy to use. The site has a home page which will be linked to by the company logo and a page link that says home.
Home will be the introduction to the site and below that the entries will start.
Stores are the entries with the ability to search the blog for specific key words or things.
About us will be three paragraphs about why we have the hobby blog and our passion to increase ourselves and the sport. I plan to feature once picture in this page, it will be static, or text we edit only one or two times a year.
Support us will be a blurb about any links to shopping may provide revenue to the site and a short disclosure about sponsored links.
The contact us page will need to be set up and configured to use a contact form. the form shall include required fields: First name, last name, reply email address, and a message in the form. an optional phone number will also be part of the contact form. the contact form will send the messages to an email address on the domain. you will set up and configure the contact form to work and send the form information to an email address I will give you. It needs to have basic spam protections.
The site footer shall have a link to our facebook page, videos (youtube) and a link to the contact form, a small copy right and blog information text, and a go to top of page arrow.
the guests and locations pages will have sections for featured people or locations, The locations will be short descriptions of blog entries with links to the entries that are tagged with that location. Both sections will be two columns so the picture of the location or person is on the left and the information about the entry is on the right.
Both of these will be limited to 4 sections or featured so they will be listed one after the other scrolling down.
Blog section section will show the last 5 stories by default and can be expanded or link to show older stories from posts.
You will have FTP access and admin access to wordpress. I have some text and some images ready, the layout and design will be the primary focus of this job. Helping with install, navigation, flow and layout is requested, along with suggestions. the site needs to look professional and well laid out. please ask any questions you have.
Delivery is requested in 3 weeks from content being delivered to you. If there are layout changes or suggestions I am open to discussions and consideration of other ideas.
