Electronics and Telecommunications
Foreign Languages:
o English (advanced level) – Professional Translator Certificate
o French (beginner level)
o German (conversational level)
General Knowledge:
o Solid electronic design knowledge (mostly digital systems but also analog modules) using various environments (including worst-case analysis and testing)
o Assembly and C programming experience for PIC and 8051 compatible microcontrollers (5 years experience).
o Solid PCB design knowledge. I obtained the first place at the local and national phases of the TIE (Tehnici de Interconectare in Electronica) students contest, the 2004 edition. I also developed several PCB designs (up to 4 electric layers) for personal and professional use.
o LabVIEW GUI design, especially file processing and serial port communication. I obtained the first place (within team of two members) at the local 2004 edition of a LabVIEW contest (organised by National Instruments)
o Visual C++ and C# programming – experience with communications via USB and Serial Port.
o MatLab – numerical systems simulation and serial port communication
o Hspice – transistor level electronic circuits simulation (beginner level)
o Web design: html, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL (beginner level)
Previous Employment:
o July 2002 – September 2002 - I worked as a debug technician at SOLECTRON ROMANIA. Here I obtained the Main Certification as a technician. I used high-tech equipment (radio frequency generator, spectrum analyser, performing oscilloscope and dedicated software) in order to detect constructional errors on mobile phone PCBs.
o October 2002 – October 2004 – I worked as a design technician at S.C. MICROTEC S.R.L. There I worked as a member of a team that designs high speed digital ASICs, PCBs and the corresponding software package. I designed PCBs using the ORCAD 9.1 design environment, I developed software applications (for data transfers via USB) using Visual C++ and C# and I developed microcontroller software (8051 family) for USB and I2C data transfers and for ports control using the assembly language.
o November 2004 – April 2007 – I worked within SiemensVDO (Restraint System department – Timi?oara location) as an Automotive Hardware Engineer as member of one of our Customer Teams. Here I benefited from high-tech equipment and dedicated automotive software, which I used in testing and test equipment building. My main task wass to design, test and debug different modules within Electronic Control Units (ECUs), which control Airbag Deployment in different types of automobiles. Working on these ECUs involved (among other things) dealing with LIN, CAN and SPI communication and providing FEA and FMEA activities. I had to communicate with our clients on a regular basis in order to harmonise the design of our ECU with the rest of the electronics in the vehicles. Part of my job was working with microcontrollers, which I now master on an high level. Due to the critical nature of these devices my work involved great responsibility and attention. I have also come in contact with new methods of workpackage management, since I had to work on specific projects with clear deadlines.
o April 2007 – present – Current
