i didn't the point why you're using Pi for these simple projects why not using tinier and cheaper board like ESP32 ? and yes ESP32 has BLE 4.0 on board, i can design android app acting as HMI to the user, so all controls can be done from the app they work just the same to engage your GPIOs, reading your tactile switches, controlling you L298N module, etc send me a message so i can take it on pretty quick

I would like to propose a different design. And the proposal is based upon this design changes. 1. Central Raspberry Pi that is in essential a MQTT broker and a Node-Red server (A graphical GUI for creating logic). 2. Decentralized Arduinos (ESP8266 based WEMOS D1 Mini) for motor control, buttons and other input/output functions. They will use WiFi for communication between nodes (Raspberry Pi and Arduinos). Delivery is depending on what the quality of the electronics should be ( I can engineer electronic PCBs but that have some lead time) The logic with vacation lock and so on is created in "Node-Red" that is easy to maintain since it has a graphical user interface and is quite easy to get started with. The proposed changes will give you a system that is easy to upgrade and modify without deep knowledge of Electronics and computers and it will utilize open source components that will minimize units (software/hardware) that is made for just you. This is my first bid, but it is quite similar to a startup system I made as a "Proof of concept". I have stated 99 days since there is some issues that needs to be straighten out and lead times if PCBs/electronics needs to be engineered. Looking forward to your response. Regards Mats
