We are looking for a freelancer who can design and/or make a prototype product for digital slide scanning application. The idea here is to scan a glass slide with biological/pathological staining or mineralogy which will need polarized light. The scanner should be able to scan at least one standard single slide (1"x3" or 25mmx75mm), double size (2"x3" or 50mm x75mm) or ideally multiple slides (like 4 or more) with the resolution near 60x objective lens or around 0.5um resolution. This can be designed by using one or multiple linear cameras at high DPI which moves in one direction like a regular scanner (for paper or photo scanning). The scanning time of a 25mmx75mm area should be below 25 seconds. Your design can be initially from off the shelf items. when you submit your proposal, you need to inform: -What would be the image resolution (in DPI / Megapixel) of scanning a single slide area? - the cost of a single product?

Hello, I have gone through the requirements and I think we can do this project for you. The way we would achieve is this by using the high Megapixel camera and getting the image in to the computer and do the image processing to detect the stains on the slides. Of course since the resolution required is less than 0.05um the camera has to be moved in both x as well as y direction to achieve the desired results. Lesser resolution is also possible but time required for scanning might be high. One need to study this in detail to ascertain the time required. However the project budget seems too low for design and development of such a precise scanner and therefore I have bidded an appropriate amount..
